Staff and students at City of Oxford College came together today to attend a service and take part in a two minutes’ silence to remember our fallen soldiers.
The service began with Georgia Pravda, Student Engagement Advisor, introducing Level 3 Performing Arts students who read the poem, ‘In Flanders Field’. The poem is well known for its connection to Remembrance Day.
The speakers were surrounded by creative work produced by Foundation Learning students, including their ideas of what letters sent home from the front line might look like.
The service continued with Ian Fry, Associate Minister from St.Ebbs, reminding students and staff of the importance of Remembrance Day, as well as reading an award-winning poem by a 10 year old girl about her opinions on war.
