Mona Turnbull, a professional body painter, visited City of Oxford College last term to demonstrate her amazing skills to students on the VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Fashion, Theatre and Media Hair and Make-up Studies.
Mona’s experience is incredibly vast as she has a face and body painting, nails and beauty, creative make up and art business; runs her own workshops; regularly demonstrates at events, such as the prestigious IMATs - the world's biggest gathering for Make-up Artists to demonstrate, learn and watch from the world's best in the industry and has worked on a TV series.
The students were shown how to paint clothes on the body, which is very commercially viable at the moment, and then had the chance to have a go at these new skills with each other in class with Mona offering advice and guidance.
Rebecca Jequier, Beauty Teacher, said: “This was a fantastic opportunity for our students to work with one of the world’s best professionals in the industry and to gain some new skills. It was also fantastic for our students to hear how Mona’s hard work and skill has resulted in an exciting and diverse career.”
