Students studying on the Furniture Design and Make Foundation Degree programme at City of Oxford College will be displaying a range of designs at the Pitt Rivers Museum in Oxford from 22 March until 16 May.
The exhibition titled ‘Adaptation’ will feature new work inspired by museum objects - and the Museum itself.
Students have used a range of materials and processes to create both practical and conceptual pieces; found objects and reclaimed timber sit with leather and plastic, and techniques include soldering, wood turning and metalwork.
Drew Smith, Furniture Tutor commented: “This collaborative project allows our students the chance to work with an amazingly diverse range of inspirations at the museum. This opportunity has challenged and inspired each student to produce innovative and beautifully crafted artefacts.
