Reading-based glasses and eye care company, Frames Foundry, recruited fashion students from Reading College to style and model their latest products.
Frames Foundry enables customers to purchase glasses and contact lenses online. The company has a strong ethical purpose; donating a pair of glasses to a person in need in a developing country for every pair sold online.
The fashion team worked with Frames Foundry to create a project-based learning challenge for students. Frames Foundry came in to college and our students styled and modelled a rage of their products. The best teams then had their models attend a photoshoot and the final photographs are now being used on the Frames Foundry website.
Sarah Edge, Lecturer in Art and Design, said: “It was very exciting to have Frames Foundry contact us to arrange to work with our students. The project brief was very clear and the competitive element worked well to bring out a great atmosphere on the day of the project. It’s fantastic for our students to see their work being used and a great boost of confidence for them to see that they can meet the expectations of an employer.”
