Business and Enterprise Top-up year validated

Congratulations to the Activate Learning higher education team who have successfully achieved validation from Oxford Brookes University to run a Top-up year for BA (Hons) Business and Enterprise.

This means that Foundation Degree Business and Enterprise students can now continue to study at City of Oxford College, rather than going to Oxford Brookes for their Top-up year.

The validation panel praised the programme team, led by Ben Melluish, for their enthusiasm and passion and the student centred approach which is ensuring the delivery of an excellent student experience.

When the panel spoke to current Foundation Degree students, they were unanimously positive about their experiences at the college.

The students commented: “It is a well-organised, well-managed programme where we experience inspirational, diverse and dynamic teaching on a daily basis. We never know what to expect, it is engaging and encourages us out of our comfort zones.”

It is great to hear these comments - an excellent example of Activate Learning’s innovative pedagogy and stretch in the curriculum.

Bill Hunt, Director of Higher Education for Activate Learning said: “We are delighted to be extending the provision of Business and Enterprise programmes by offering a BA (Hons) awarded by Oxford Brookes University.

The new programme will build upon the success of the current Foundation Degree provision which has an excellent record of delivering high quality learning which meets the needs of students and employers.

We look forward to working with the BA (Hons) students in further developing their business ideas and entrepreneurial traits in order to maximise their potential for success.”

The new programme starts in September 2017.

This builds on the success of the Foundation Degree in Business and Enterprise which had very high student satisfaction in the 2016 National Student Survey. The team were recently presented with an award from Oxford Brookes for their fantastic results.
