A group of 8 students studying on the Beauty Therapy (body) Level 3 course at City of Oxford College have returned home from successfully completing a Thai massage qualification in Thailand.
The trip was self-funded by the students and involved completing over 60 hours of classes at an award winning further education College.
The trip was made possible by an organisation called World City Links who work closely with colleges to provide students with the opportunity to enhance their learning overseas with partner education providers.
As well as completing an intense course in Thai massage, students participated in an excursion to Wat Po Temple and the famous JJ market to purchase their very own Thai linen uniforms.
Sinji Washnam, Beauty Therapy (body) Level 3 student commented: “Our trip to Thailand was amazing. It was great to experience a different culture in another country and meet so many friendly people. The massage course really took us out of our comfort zone as we had never travelled so far to study before. We learnt new techniques such as herbal compresses that are used to ease muscle tension.“
