Tienda! Priceless work experience at a new store on campus

OCVC students have just launched a new corner shop in Oxford that they have helped build themselves.

Tienda, which is Spanish for shop, sells a range of items, from soap to tea bags, thrifty second hand goods to newspapers and will be open throughout term time.
 
Foundation Studies students, who require additional learning support, will be running the store as a social enterprise, under the guidance of Project Manager, Lexie James-Priday.  “It will function as a professional profit making business with the ultimate benefit of giving our disabled students priceless work experience prior to leaving college.”
Student Nafissa Afsar is part of the team. “We’ve really enjoyed putting the shop together and hope lots of people will visit and make Tienda a big success!”

Thursdays 9.00 am to 3.00 pm
Fridays 10.00 am to 3.00 pm
