Activate Learning alumni wins Royal Society of Arts Student Design award

A former City of Oxford College student has won a prestigious student design award for his range of ideas for a healthy lifestyle brand.

James Washington (Extended Diploma Level 3 in Graphic Design) was among just 20 winners from over 800 entries from around the world to the Royal Society of Arts Student Design Awards held in Cornwall.

James is currently studying Graphic Design at New Bucks University and his brand ideas, called Inner Garden, are currently on display at the ‘The Human Microbiome exhibition' at the Eden Project, near St Austell, examining the invisible community of bacterial microbes in the body.

James was one of two winners in the Human by Nature award, sponsored by the Eden Project. His project is aimed at making people healthier and features a food range, app and book.

James commented: “I'm so happy with the result and I really look forward to working alongside the Eden Project's design team."

Activate Learning are keen to promote the great work being done by our former students and welcome further success stories.
