Putting Women in the Picture

Gain confidence and practical skills to produce a film from start to finish and learn digital editing in a supportive women's environment.

Putting Women in the Picture is a Skillset (the film and television indusrty's training body) approved NCFE Level 2 in Digital Video Production.

The course was created in recognition of the fact that less than 10 percent of the workforce in camera, lighting and sound departments were women, compared to 97 percent in make-up and hairdressing.

Carpentry Skills

A course designed to equip you with the necessary practical and theoretical skills needed to pursue a career in wood occupations. Covers:

• manufacture of 12 basic joints
• 2 frames using joints
• inspection hatch and frame
• serving hatch and window
• erection and use of access
• equipment & tower scaffold

Building Skills For Women

This course will provide you with an insight into a variety of basic construction skills which may include:

• Plumbing
• Plastering
• Carpentry
• Tiling
• Painting
• Also covers skills for life.

IT Into Employment

The course is designed for women wishing to gain employment or progress onto further learning.

This course involves:

• Confidence building
• Basic IT Skills
• Career preparation
• Improving learning and performance

Motor Vehicle Maintenance

A practical course covering:

• Engine lubrication systems
• Engine cooling systems
• Fuel and exhaust systems
• Spark ignition systems
• Electrical, braking & transmission system
• Steering and suspension
• Wheel and tyre systems
