The Engineering Department is equipped with modern facilities so that you can develop the skills needed for work in today's engineering industry. A range of courses is provided to meet your needs from basic training through to university entrance level. Facilities include an electronics and mechanical science laboratory, oxy-acetylene, TIG and MIG welding bays, mechanical and maintenance engineering workshops including lathes, milling machines, grinders and CNC machines. Our Performance Engineering and Motorsport programmes will be delivered in our new centre in Bicester, which forms part of a National Centre of Vocational Excellence. |

OCVC has strong employer engagement in these sectors and the Technology department is continuing to build relationships by working in close harmony with the employer engagement department, Sector Skills Councils and the Learning Skills Council. The department has demonstrated a growth in the provision for 14 – 16 year olds, exhibiting a passion for increasing quality and attracting greater interest from this age group. There is a wide selection of courses provided within the Technology department, with courses ranging from L1 new directions, through to L4 NVQ, HNC and development work on Foundation Degrees. There are also specific employer-designed courses ranging from L2, Health and Safety to one-week courses in high technologies for the Motor-sports Industry. |
