Careers And Initial Guidance

If you are thinking of applying for a course but are not sure which one will suit your career aspirations. You may benifit from a one to one course guidance interview, with one of our careers advisers. Our Careers advisers are experienced at helping people of all ages and can advise those returning to study on the opportunities available. They can help you look through the options available to you, so you can choose the best course for you.

Careers Support

At Oxford and Cherwell Valley College, our Careers Centres work in partnership with the Connexions Service.

All students at the College can access careers support to help them progress through their course. Our careers advisers provided one to one and tutorial support for:

  • Considering options availablecareers and support centre
  • Research course choices
  • Completing application forms
  • Writing a CV
  • Job Seeking
  • Interview Skills
  • Careers software and information
  • University Applications
  • Student Finance for higher education   

All students can request an interview with a Careers Adviser and use the resources in the Careers Centre.

 

Connexions

All students aged 13-19 (or up to 25 if the person or persons suffer with learning difficulties)have access to a Connexions Personal Adviser. Personal Advisers are based in the Careers Centre. Connexions can support students with a range of issues including; careers education, finding employment, housing, relationships, health, money and leisure.
