About Health, Social, Childcare and Counselling

learning to care

"Do you need to re-train or gain new skills to work in the care sector? Are you leaving school in the summer and want to peruse a career in health, social work, care or early years?"

care studentsIf you are interested in training to provide care, education or support to individuals, families and children dealing with the challenges of life in the Twenty First Century then we have a course for you.

The Health, Social, Childcare and Counseling Team have a wealth of professional experience from a wide range of social, health, care and educational settings.

We are based at the Oxford City and Banbury Campuses and offer the same courses on both campuses, allowing you the choice of a city setting or a more rural setting to study. We have courses ranging from entry level 3 to level 4 so there will be a course to suit you, you can choose to study either part time or full time from 14 years upwards to 100+.

There is funding available for 16-18 year of through EMA and for 19+ students through ALG.
The Curriculum team also works in co-operation with early year's settings, family centres and schools across Oxfordshire, and our extensive team of placement assessors visit students regularly to support and guide their work practice.

Care Progression RoutesHigher level courses can be studied at both sites with an Early Years Foundation Degree in development, the Diploma in Integrative Counselling and the Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling Supervision available at Oxford.

Students take an active part in college life and are encouraged to become involved in projects that provide additional benefit to the community.

With the added opportunity of exchange visits and residentials with our partner department in Guernsey College, come and study with us and let us help you reach new heights
