Continuous Professional Development opportunities for all Staff
At OCVC we believe passionately in the continuous development of our staff and also our teams. We aspire to offer everyone the opportunity to take part in professional development in all its forms. We aim to be the conduit to inspire, lead and inform on the latest educational trends, 21st Century learning methodologies and innovative business practices.
Continuous professional development is not just about ‘completing a course’; it is about developing yourself, being reflective and being respectful of one another. We believe it is important to be open to change and innovation and to develop a collaborative team approach in order to enhance the service we offer to our customers, the students.
We expect all staff to participate in and manage their own personal development and training and offer their expertise to both colleagues and students, with due regard to The College strategic objectives, mission and values. Where possible we use the expertise of existing staff to forward exceptional practice.
All staff have regular opportunities to identify and review their personal learning needs, which are recorded on their continuous development plan. While we provide advice and guidance, it is the responsibility of the individual to ensure the CPD plan is implemented, reviewed and updated.
Team activity is supported by team CPD plans created by Line Managers with the support of the Staff Development Manager. We are also able to offer external training by request.
There are many opportunities for staff members to engage in CPD, please contact us at staffdevelopment@ocvc.ac.uk for more information.
