Raising Aspirations and Improving Employability at OCVC
We aim to match students with employers. For example, we matched a female student who made it clear that she didn’t plan to go to university with a female director of a company who achieved considerable professional success without going to university.
Developing entrepreneurial ideas
4 students from OCVC entered as a team in the Business X competition at the Said Business School that was launched on 7 October 2010.
Their business idea (called Bookflow) was based on the recycling of students’ books. They reached the finals of the competition and their business idea (Bookflow) has become a reality.
In April 2011 the team met with the college vice principal, Ian Francis, to present their idea and have subsequently secured a £1000 investment from OCVC.
