Security Courses:

  • Level 2 in either Door Supervision or CCTV
  • The qualifications are recognised by the security industry regulators (SIA security industry authority)
  • The courses are run over 4 days and entail 3 multichoice exams and a practical exam
  • There is an opportunity to gain paid employment at the Olympic games through the bridging the gap programme (a guaranteed interview following full attendance and successful completion)

Apprenticeships:

  • We are offering a range of apprenticeships: for example AAT Accounting, Customer Service, Business, Administration, Health & Social Care, Child Care, Driving Goods Vehicles, Retail, Warehouse and Storage. Please call us to discuss and we will link you up with our Apprenticeships team.

Part-time professional qualifications

Improve your prospects at work – courses in the following areas start in January:

  • Electrical, gas, plumbing and eco technologies
  • Hair and beauty (massage, hairdressing)
  • SQL, Dreamweaver, CISCO
  • Furniture
  • Teaching – CELTA, TEFL, PTLLS and CTLLS

Level 1 Fast-track Chef's Diploma:

  • Level 1 two-term fast track
  • Focuses on food preparation and cooking
  • Run as a discrete, new course
  • Need to be highly motivated and want to train as a chef
  • Successful completion enables progression to Level 2 Chef's Diploma in September 2012
  • Can run in Oxford or Banbury – more flexibility for us at Oxford
  • Can be flexible about January start date; will run until end of June
  • Will need to purchase kit £150-£200

Peter Jones Enterprise Academy:

Understanding Business Enterprise and Entrepreneurship - BTEC Level 2 Diploma (taster course)

  • Ideal for budding entrepreneurs
  • Backed by organisations like Grant Thornton and Orange
  • Great new suite of teaching rooms and resources on Oxford campus
  • The interview will replicate a corporate interview. Applicants will be required to dress formally and will be assessed on their experience, aspirations and skills/abilities

This is a short taster course in February to help you see if this course is right for you

Unemployed or at risk of redundancy?

We have the Get That Job programme to help you develop skills and find a job.

Not in education, employment or training?

Entry and Level 1 courses

  • Build skills and confidence in English, Maths and ICT
  • Gain skills needed to progress to a full-time vocational course

Level 2 Pre-Access Diploma:

  • For adults 19+ returning to education, interested in progressing to any Level 3 programme, including Access to HE
  • Fast-track 2 term programme to get ready to enrol on another Level 3 course in September

Elements:

  • Fast-track two term programme to mainstream further education
  • Aimed at 16-18 with English language needs
  • Runs to the end of July
  • Successful completion will enable you to progress to a Level 1 or Level 2 mainstream vocational course
