At the heart of Motorsports Valley, within a few miles of Silverstone, Bicester is our newest campus, equipped with the latest technology, modern workshops, a learning resources centre and restaurant. Workshops facilities in
clude:
- Fabrication and welding - Featuring the latest TIG welding technology
- Engineering machining - Including CNC machining and material testing
- Composites - featuring a full size Autoclave
- Hand fit workshop
- Computer Aided Design - with 2D and 3D software and Computational Fluid Dynamics
- Motorsport workshop - Including sub-assembly and engine rebuild with numerous open wheeled cars
- Specialist projects workshops
We also now offer Uniformed Public Services courses at Bicester.
Eco-technology – exciting times ahead
There are exciting times ahead for Bicester as it has been selected by the Government as one of four areas where a new eco town will be developed. Up to 15,000 carbon-neutral homes will be built using renewable energy technologies and the town centre, Bicester Village, and the rail and road infrastructure will be renewed. All these changes will enhance Bicester’s economy, increase the population and provide an opportunity for the region to become a leading centre for business and technology.
We have extended and equipped the facilities at our Bicester campus to deliver renewable technologies training from March 2011. We are launching an Award in Environmental Technologies as well as courses covering the following technologies:
- Ground Source Heat Pumps
- Renewable Energy Awareness
- Warm Water Under floor Heating Installation and Design
- Woody Biomass
- Rainwater Harvesting
- Photovoltaic solar cells
- Sustainable living
- Domestic Solar Hot Water
