Our campuses
OCVC has campuses at Banbury, Bicester, Oxford City Centre and Blackbird Leys.
Historically, each campus was an individual College, but in 2003 ‘Oxford & Cherwell College’ was formed when Oxford College of Further Education, North Oxfordshire College in Banbury and Rycotewood College in Thame all merged. We opened a new campus in Bicester in 2005, and that’s when we introduced our current name - Oxford & Cherwell Valley College.
Convenient locations
All of our campuses are easy to find and very well placed. Our Oxford City Centre and Banbury campuses are within walking distance of their historic centres - wonderful places to enjoy a wide range of social, cultural and relaxation activities. Our Bicester campus is at the heart of ‘Motorsport Valley’ offering the full motorsports experience to our engineering students. Blackbird Leys is only a short bus-ride away from the centre of Oxford, and has shopping and leisure amenities on its doorstep.
Professional facilities
Our students learn in real-life environments. We have our own industry-standard workshops for motor vehicle, joinery, bricklaying, welding, plumbing and furniture making, for example.
Hair and beauty students train in our own on-campus salons, and hospitality and catering students train in our own restaurants. The salons and restaurants are popular with the local public, providing first-class service at discounted prices.
Our fashion students have their own fashion workshops, performing artists their own theatres, media students their own media studios, design students their own graphic design studios - and the list goes on!
Cafés and restaurants
Students, staff and visitors can easily find food and drink throughout the day during term time as we have cafés and restaurants on all of our campuses, offering a range of snacks, sandwiches and a weekly changing menu.
Shops
We have shops on the Banbury and Oxford campuses where you can buy drinks, confectionery and other items too. The Banbury shop sells artists’ equipment and stationery items, and our own students run the Foundation Studies Store at Banbury and Tienda Store at Oxford. Both shops stock a range of goods, from gifts to groceries.
